Our Counselling Children and Adolescents Diploma offers a flexible and accessible way to develop the essential skills for counselling young people. Delivered remotely via Zoom, this comprehensive course runs one day each month for 12 months, from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm. Whether you're based in the UK or internationally, this course provides the perfect opportunity to gain in-depth knowledge and practical experience in counselling children and adolescents, all from the comfort of your own home. You will be expected to attend via remote for each session, and will attend a minimum of 80% of the training. Other learners and a tutor will be present in the virtual classroom.

Counselling Children and Adolescents Diploma
To pursue counselling young people, you must have foundational knowledge in counselling young people and a Level 3 counselling skills certificate. The counselling children and adolescents specialist diploma we offer can help equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to work with young people in a therapeutic context. This is not an accredited course, it is useful for using the CPD hours for your membership requirements, 78 hours.
Unlike other courses and diplomas, our Counselling Children and Young Persons diploma at Key Counselling Training is not completed via email or pre-recorded video. Instead, one of our qualified and experienced tutors will teach you live via Zoom. This creates a collaborative, face-to-face learning experience within a virtual classroom. The course runs for one day per month over 12 months.




Counselling Children Training Courses

Our child and adolescent counselling course is designed to equip aspiring counsellors with the skills and knowledge needed to provide effective interventions that benefit young people.
Our learners become competent professionals capable of working with children and young people who experience various issues such as anxiety, relationship difficulties, and low self-esteem. We aim to ensure that you feel confident and competent in your ability to provide counselling to children and young people.
You will need up to a level 3 counselling skills certificate to access this course, or have significant experience of working with children or young people.

Counselling Young People
To enrol on this training, you must have completed a level 3 certificate (either face-to-face or remotely, such as Zoom).
A career in child counselling is highly rewarding, offering endless opportunities to support children and adolescents in becoming well-rounded, confident, and capable individuals.
The content of our children’s counselling course covers topics such as youth culture, developmental theories, and bonding and attachment. You will learn how to connect with younger generations, allowing you to tailor your approach and maximise the benefit of your interventions and counselling techniques.
You will require a placement to complete the diploma training, and the tutor will guide you for suitable placements. You will need to have completed (or be in the process of completing) a level 3 counselling skills course, or have equivalent experience working with children, or already be a trainee/qualified counsellor. You may already be using counselling skills as interventions in your place of work, which may allow you to join this training. There is a 4-week cooling-off period. We can provide a list of approved supervisors to connect with you who provide a lower fee for our learners.

Our learners come from various backgrounds, including individuals currently seeking employment, those looking to change careers and those interested in counselling adolescents. This course covers creative techniques for working with young people, as well as the importance of safeguarding. Trainee/qualified counsellors and those working within pastoral settings.
We offer this counselling children and adolescents diploma to qualified counsellors who want to expand and diversify their skills, as well as those already working with children in pastoral settings. You must have completed a level 3 counselling training accreditation to take part in this children’s counselling course.
You will not be able to join membership bodies with this qualification/training.

You will need to engage with a supervisor for the placement hours, and this will be at your own cost, however, we have low-cost supervisors who provide reduced rates to our learners.
